Algerian telecom operator, Algerie Telecom has officially launched LTE service in the country. Operator aims to deploy eNodeB 2000 sites in late 2015. In the first phase of deployment, Algerie Telecom  has deployed eNodeB 200 sites spread over 48 provinces. 

The Austrian regulatory authority TKK has completed the auction of LTE frequencies in the 2.6 GHz band, raising EUR 39.5.

SoftBank  and Sprint Nextel have entered into an agreement under which SoftBank will invest $20.1 billion to acquire 70% Stake in Sprint. Sprint equity holders will own approximately 30% of the shares of New Sprint.

EnergyAustralia has signed an agreement with Ericsson as part of the energy company’s smart grid rollout to use LTE for its 4G communications network.

Indian telecom operator Infotel, a subsidiary of Reliance Group, has licensed SPIRIT DSP Mobile Video Engine. Reliance intends to invest $10 billion in its LTE network and has selected SPIRIT's software products for voice and video calls over LTE.

Alcatel-Lucent and China Mobile today announced that they have successfully completed the first high-definition video call over a TD-LTE network at the Shanghai World Expo.
