Philippines’ wireless services provider Smart Communications is launching commercial LTE services on August 25. The announcement comes after a year of LTE test deployments conducted by PLDT’s wireless subsidiary in various parts of the country.

Canadian operator TELUS  has announced Wi-Xi squad that will visit various popular public places throughout the summer to give Montrealers free access to operator’s 4G LTE network.

UK carrier EE has launched 4G LTE network in a further 18 towns across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England. Less than two years since launch, 4G from EE now covers over 75% of the population across 281 large towns and cities and more than 2,500 villages and small towns.

ZTE and UAE-based operator Etisalat have completed LTE Trials. The project was conducted in the Etisalat headquarters in Abu Dhabi's according to c114.net.

Nokia Siemens Networks has won a five-year deal from The Telekom Austria Group (TAG) to deploy high-quality mobile broadband services and network performance systems. 

11 Telecom companies including Qualcomm are expected to bid in the broadband wireless spectrum auctions (BWA) starting Monday on May 24.
