Hong Kong’s mobile service provider CSL's 1O1O and one2free brands have expanded their 1800MHz spectrum from 2x 10Mhz to 2 x 15MHz (i.e. 50% bandwidth expansion) in majority of the network. 

African operator Movicel has launched of commercial 1.8GHz FDD LTE network in the Cabinda province of Angola. Earlier during MWC 2012 in Barcelona, Movicel announced it would deploy the first commercial LTE network in Angola by the end of May 2012, however operator has rolled out network 45 days ahead of the original plan.

Verizon Wireless is launching its LTE network in 11 new markets and expanding coverage in seven markets on Dec. 15.

Russian operator Rostelecom plans to launch the LTE test network in Penza by the end of August.

Nokia Siemens Networks has announced that China Mobile has selected the company for the deployment of TD-LTE in three cities by the end of 2012. The deployment is part of China Mobile’s large-scale pre-commercial trial of its TD-LTE network.  

At recently held Global Antenna Technology & Industry Forum in Munich, Huawei released its new FDD antenna and FDD/TDD converged antenna platforms. These antennas apply to full-band 4T4R and FDD/TDD convergent networking to support a 5G-oriented evolution. These new antennas will be commercially available by the second half of 2018.
