ZTE has been selected as a 4G radio equipment supplier for BASE Company, the Belgian subsidiary of Dutch mobile operator KPN. BASE Company has launched 4G services in 15 cities and was the second operator to start 4G in Belgium.

Sprint has announced an agreement to buy approximate 50% stake in Clearwire it does not currently own for $2.97 per share, equating to a total payment to Clearwire shareholders, other than Sprint, of $2.2 billion. Clearwire’s spectrum, when combined with Sprint’s, will provide Sprint with an enhanced spectrum portfolio that will strengthen its position in U.S.

Rogers will also be making its 2600 MHz LTE spectrum band available in all markets. Australian telco Telstra has switched on it's first 4G LTE base stations in Sydney, Perth, Melbourne and Brisbane.

Canada's communications company Bell has increased 4G LTE network speeds up to 45%. According to Bell, LTE download speeds have increased from 75 Megabits per second (expected average 12-25 Mbps) to 110 Mbps (14-36 Mbps), with speed as high as 150 Mbps (18-40 Mbps) available in some locations.
