Alcatel-Lucent is to deploy a LTE overlay network in the Midwestern U.S. states of Oklahoma and Kansas to enable Pioneer Cellular to  4G broadband mobile access to its customers.

Sprint's 4G LTE network is now available in six new areas. Beginning today, Sprint's LTE service is available in Indianapolis/Carmel, Ind.; Santa Rosa/Petaluma, Calif.; Vallejo/Fairfield, Calif.; Southern Puerto Rico (including Ponce, Coamo and Guayama); York/Hanover, Pa.; and Franklin County, Pa..

Alcatel-Lucent has announced that company will enable YooMee Africa to expand into new African market by offering TDD LTE wireless access.  YooMee Africa, previously known as 4G Africa, is a wireless broadband operator in Cameroon and owns licenses in several countries on the African continent.

Wireless network measurement solutions provider Anite has announced a commercial LTE-A and carrier aggregation (“CA”) testing solution for mobile network operators and network infrastructure vendors. Using the Nemo Outdoor, operators can monitor the performance and quality of their LTE-A networks.

Sprint has agreed to acquire PCS spectrum and customers from U.S. Cellular for $480 million. The deal includes parts of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri and Ohio including the Chicago and St. Louis markets. 

Belgium's mobile operator BASE Company has launched 4G LTE network in country. BASE customers can now use 4G in 15 cities. According to operator, more cities will be added soon. BASE customers with an unlimited tariff plan as of B-39 are automatically offered 4G in their existing package.
