WiMAX equipment manufacturers, service providers and chip companies have reached a major milestone in advancing the speed of data and the efficiency of broadband wireless networks based on the 802.

Motorola has announced that it has passed China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) 2.3 GHz  full feature set lab trial with a 100 percent pass rate. 

ZTE has announced that the company, as one of the main solution providers for Algérie Télécom’s FDD-LTE network, is responsible for the infrastructure in 14 provinces, including the capital city Alger.

Alcatel-Lucent is to deploy a LTE overlay network in the Midwestern U.S. states of Oklahoma and Kansas to enable Pioneer Cellular to  4G broadband mobile access to its customers.

Indian mobile service provider Aircel has selected ZTE to deploy LTE network in India. In the first stage, the LTE deployment will be initiated in Chennai, Rest of Tamil Nadu (RoTN) and few other business critical circles, reports Hindu Business Line‎.

Belgium's mobile operator BASE Company has launched 4G LTE network in country. BASE customers can now use 4G in 15 cities. According to operator, more cities will be added soon. BASE customers with an unlimited tariff plan as of B-39 are automatically offered 4G in their existing package.
