Alcatel-Lucent and West Central Wireless, a subsidiary of the Central Texas Telephone Cooperative, have signed an agreement to provide LTE service in rural areas of Texas, USA. Under the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will enable West Central Wireless to launch new 4G LTE service.

UK Broadband (UKB) has announced that its 4G LTE service 'now Broadband' is now available in areas of Swindon, Southwark and Reading. Company’s fixed wireless LTE service offers broadband via a home router with no long-term contracts and provides users a flexible alternative to a fixed broadband connection.

Rogers Communications has launched LTE network in Calgary and Halifax, Canada. With this further expansion, Rogers brings LTE to nearly 12 million Canadians, says the company. Operator further plans to cover almost 60 per cent of the population by the end of the year.

VivaCell-MTS has announced the commercial launch of the 4G LTE network.

AT&T will start selling Nokia Lumia 900, the Windows smartphone, on April 8 for $99.99.  Customers can also pre-order it in cyan or black beginning March 30. The Lumia 900 will be available in cyan blue and a matte black on April 8, with a newly announced high-gloss white version on sale beginning April 22.

U.S. carrier T-Mobile announced an new Simple Starter value plan yesterday that will cost $40 a month for unlimited talk and text and up to 500MB 4G LTE data and tethering. The new plan will be launched on April 12th. 

Cable & Wireless Communications (CWC) has launched LTE mobile data services in the Cayman Islands. The new service from LIME, the company’s Caribbean business, is capable of download speeds of over 100 megabits per second (mbps).
