The E-Plus Group will launch a TD-LTE field trial in Germany in Q1 2011. The trial is based on 2.6 GHz spectrum that E-Plus acquired in the German spectrum auction.

MediaTek's first LTE System on Chip (SoC) is now commercial available in Europe. According to company, its quad-core LTE SoC delivers exceptional multitasking and multimedia capabilities as well as LTE download speeds.

U.S. operator AT&T has launched LTE network in Ruston, La.; New Bern, N.C.; State College, Pa.; Georgetown, S.C. and Jayuya, P.R. AT&T 4G LTE service also expanded today in Atlanta, Ga.; Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Shreveport, La.; Oxford, Miss.; Albany, N.Y.; San Juan and Guayama, P.R.

Vodafone New Zealand has launched 4G LTE services in parts of Wellington. Operator's LTE network is available already in parts of Auckland, Christchurch, Lake Brunner, Queenstown, Wanaka and Taupo.
