picoChip partners with Indian firms for 3G, 4G development
picoChip has been selected by Rancore Technologies Ltd for the development of 4G base stations for rolling out next-generation wireless telecom networks in India. This was announced earliar this week at UK-India Government Summit in Delhi.
Rancore uses picoChip’s picoArray PC203 multi-core digital signal processor, which delivers the performance needed in demanding applications such as carrier-class wireless infrastructure for WiMAX and LTE. Rancore Technologies is a R&D organization in India specializing in upcoming 4G technologies based on new and popular protocols and services for the technology domain.
In addition to it, this week picoChip also announced a sales and distribution agreement with Entuple Technologies Ltd who will represent picoChip throughout India.
Under the agreement Entuple will provide sales, engineering and systems integration support, covering HSPA+ femtocells, rural femtocells and LTE technology.
