  • Local mobile operator GTA has launched 4G LTE network in Guam. This network upgrade overlays LTE wireless technology within the northern and central areas of the island.

  • Vodafone has announced that it will be launching 4G LTE network in Malta. Operator plans to introduce commercial LTE services in the beginning of November.

  • AT&T has launched 4G LTE service in 13 new markets. With this expansion, AT&T 4G LTE is now live in 437 markets and covers 240 million people. AT&T LTE network is expected to cover nearly 270 million people by year-end 2013.

  • Australian operator Telstra has announced that more than 3.2 million 4G devices are now operating on its 4G network. This includes more than 360,000 4G smartphones since June 30 this year, or more than 25,000 per week. Telstra launched 4G mobile network two years ago.

  • PARIS – October 8, 2013 – 4G chipmaker Sequans Communications S.A. (NYSE: SQNS) today announced availability of the VZ20M and VZ21M modules, the newest members of its EZLinkLTE™ family of single-mode LTE modules.

  • Telecom New Zealand will launch 4G network on 12 November in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. 4G service will be available to both prepaid and pay-monthly customers at no additional cost on Telecom’s current plans.

  • T-Mobile Czech Republic has launched commercial LTE network in Prague and Mlada Boleslav. The operator has also extended LTE coverage of the Czech Republic’s capital – 26% of its territory (mainly in the Prague 4 district) and 33% of its population is now covered with this network. 

  • Belgium's mobile operator BASE Company has launched 4G LTE network in country. BASE customers can now use 4G in 15 cities. According to operator, more cities will be added soon. BASE customers with an unlimited tariff plan as of B-39 are automatically offered 4G in their existing package.

  • South Korea's SK Telecom has begun offering LTE service using wider bandwidth in the 1.8 GHz spectrum today and plans to rapidly expand the service to the entire Seoul area by the end of October 2013.
