Taqua selects Adax ATCA Signaling GW for Small Cell Networks
October 3rd, 2013, Oakland, CA – Adax (www.adax.com), an industry leader in Signaling Gateways, high-performance packet-processing, security and network infrastructure products today announced that Taqua®, LLC, a leading supplier of next-generation fixed and mobile switching systems and convergence applications, have selected for deployment the Adax Signaling Gateway in its small cell core network infrastructure. The AdaxGW 5.x on ATCA is a versatile addition to Taqua’s portfolio of solution offerings.

The AdaxGW is a single software image configurable and reconfigurable to meet any requirement for today’s emerging ALL IP Network. It supports legacy SS7 connections to any SIGTRAN Ethernet connection and ATM-IP and I-TDM interworking delivers VoIP for Access Concentration with Media Conversion thus providing a solid foundation for user and control plane applications.
Adax ATCA-based Application Ready Platforms provide integrated hardware and software systems with High Availability and Scalability built in as standard. A full range of cost-effective 2, 6 and 14 slot solutions are available delivering the industry’s lowest cost per slot. For this project, Taqua has chosen the highly-economical 2U DC chassis with fully redundant hardware and sophisticated HA software from Adax.
Taqua’s small cell core network solution is comprised of Taqua’s T6100™ Convergence Server, T7100™ Multimedia Controller, and the T7000® Intelligent Switching System with mobile interface cards; as well as an integrated session border controller and security gateway from Acme Packet.
The T6100 is a SIP-based mobile convergence application server that integrates with existing mobile core elements, including the HLR, SMSC, and MSC; using standard ANSI-41 and WIN protocols within CDMA networks. The T6100 extends macro network features and functions to small cell-served subscribers. It delivers voice, messaging, and data convergence; provides supplementary services and regulatory services; and enables seamless macro/small cell handoffs. The T7100 provides the media gateway controller and MRF functionality, while the T7000 provides all the media gateway control functionality.
Taqua’s small cell core to bridges legacy circuit switched mobile cores with an IP core, enabling Carriers to offer the same higher quality voice, SMS, data and location enhanced services to customers being served within their new small cell deployments. The solution also enables the seamless evolution of voice and messaging services as well as 4G/LTE (VoLTE).
