Qualcomm, which won BWA spectrum for four circles in India at Rs 4,913 crore, is in talks to exit the business. BWA auction took place earlier this year and  concluded in June.

According to a Economic Times report, the company has sought a minimum price of Rs 5,000 crore for its spectrumand permits in the four circles of Mumbai, Delhi, Haryana and Kerala. 

However, the company intends to keep the TD-LTE focus even after its exit, insisting that a potential buyer use this technology. According to reports, Qaualcomm wants to sell 100% and is not interested in selling a minority stake. Since regulations cap foreign investment at 74%, Qaulcomm had divested 26% stake to GTL Infrastructure and Tulip Telecom for Rs 268 crore.

Qualcomm will work with 3G operators to develop the 3G+LTE ecosystem, commercially deploy LTE TDD in the BWA spectrum, and then to exit its India LTE venture, a company spokesperson said.
