On average across Latin America only 20 percent of the ITU’s recommended target spectrum allocation for 2015 has been met, resulting in a tremendous shortfall of available spectrum, reports 4G Americas.

U.S. carrier T-Mobile has announced that HD Voice is now available on its network nationwide. To experience HD Voice, both parties on the call must use capable T-Mobile 4G smartphones such as the HTC One S, Nokia Astound and Samsung Galaxy S III on T-Mobile’s HD Voice-enabled nationwide network.

Verizon, Ericsson and Qualcomm achieved 1.07Gbps (gigabits per second) download speeds with commercial silicon and network infrastructure using the Qualcomm SnapdragonTMX20 LTE Modem that supports Category 18 LTE speeds, during an Ericsson lab trial. 

Belgium's operator, Belgacom has launched commercial LTE services in eight cities in the country.  The eight cities are Hasselt, Antwerp, Ghent, Leuven, Liège, Namur, Mons, Waver and the Haasrode Industrial Park. operator started rolling out the 4G network in June 2011.

Acme Packet has announced that Aicent has deployed Acme Packet Net-Net Diameter Director to support its global LTE roaming service and the Acme Packet Net-Net Session Director to manage SIP interconnects for its IPX service.

Singapore's service provider StarHub plans to launch LTE network on 19 September 2012. At the same time, operator is also enhancing its 3G network with introduction of Dual Cell High-Speed Packet Access Plus (DC-HSPA+) for improved downlink speed.
