Claro has selected Ericsson as the supplier of the operator's LTE network in Costa Rica. Ericsson's LTE solution will include several core and radio access infrastructure products such as Mobility Management Entity, Home Subscriber Server, the RBS 6000 family, and microwave transmission

SK Telecom and Ericsson have successfully demonstrated the Elastic Cell technology on July 21. According to SK Telecom, Elastic Cell is expected to become a key technology for 5G. Demonstrating data transfer rate improved by up to 50 percent at the cell-edge, SK Telecom aims to commercially launch the technology by 2016.

Turkcell, Ericsson and Qualcomm have successfully demoed the live 3-Carrier High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (3C-HSDPA) on a commercial network. The test utilized a feature that will be included in Ericsson's software release 15A and was conducted on a smartphone powered by a Qualcomm processor with its integrated Qualcommmodem.

Ericsson has achieved 5 Gbps speed in the 15 GHz frequency band in live, over-the-air demonstrations of the company's pre-standard 5G network technology. NTT DOCOMO and SK Telecom senior management witnessed Ericsson's demonstration at Ericsson lab in Kista, Sweden.

Ericsson has won a deal providing an integrated Policy and Charging solution to Taiwan Mobile. Taiwan Mobile is one of the largest operators in Taiwan, offering mobile, fixed line, cable TV and broadband services.

French mobile service provider Bouygues Telecom has chosen Ericsson to launch VoLTE services to its live, commercial 4G/LTE network in France. The service will provide HD (high definition) voice conversations and enriched IP-based communication services such as video calling over LTE. 

Singapore's mobile operator SingTel has unveiled 4G ClearVoice, a commercial full-featured Voice over LTE (VoLTE) service, in collaboration with Samsung and Ericsson. Operator's VoLTE service offers full suite of telephony features such as call waiting and forwarding on the 4G network.

Cable & Wireless Communications (trading as LIME) has completed the roll-out of its new 4G LTE network in Cayman Islands. The network was installed by Ericsson as sole supplier, covering 100% of the islands. Ericsson has also expanded LIME’s existing HSPA network, which now covers 100% of the islands. 

Australian mobile operator Telstra has announced successful live demonstration of 450Mbps network speed using LTE Advanced Carrier Aggregation across a trial combination of 1800MHz and 2600MHz bands.

China Mobile has fully tested and certified Ericsson's M7450 5-mode modem chipset for use in China Mobile's network. Ericsson's M7450 covers five access technologies: TD-LTE, LTE FDD, WCDMA, TD-SCDMA and GSM.  The LTE Advanced multimode modem targets smartphones, tablets and other connected devices.

Japanese carrier NTT DOCOMO plans to conduct experimental trials of emerging 5G mobile communications technologies with six mobile technology vendors: Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Fujitsu, NEC, Nokia and Samsung.

Hungary’s telecommunication service provider Magyar Telekom demonstrated LTE-Advanced technology, jointly with Ericsson, on its test network in Budapest. Operator tested today at Telekom’s headquarters in Budapest the bandwidth that can be implemented by the LTE-Advanced.

Taiwan's telecom operator Far EasTone has chosen Ericsson as a LTE supplier for LTE Radio and Core Network. Ericsson will provide hardware, software and support services, rolling out a multi-access RAN and core network for both 3G and 4G services, as well as assisting with network optimization.
