U.S. carrier Verizon Wireless has selected Alcatel-Lucent’s Subscriber Data Manager (SDM) to help manage data traffic as the 4G LTE network continues to grow.

Polish operator of the Plus network, Polkomtel has implemented Nokia Siemens Networks’ Circuit Switched FallBack (CSFB) solution to provid voice call services alongside LTE. CSFB seamlessly switches customers to Polkomtel’s 3G network to make voice calls when using LTE devices.

Ericsson and Qualcomm have completed a non-standalone (NSA) 5G New Radio (NR) data call on 2.6 GHz, adding a new frequency band to those successfully tested for commercial deployment. The bi-directional downlink and uplink data call was made at the Ericsson Lab in Kista, Sweden last December 20.
