A1 Telekom Austria's LTE network is operational now  in the capital Vienna, Austria. Earlier in June this year Telekom Austria had conducted a live LTE demonstration on the A1 network.

According to company statement A1 Telekom Austria is using 2.6 GHz frequency band for LTE lauch and has 49 base stations in Vienna and three stations in St. Pölten. More transmission sites in other urban centers are being planned.

Details regarding LTE vendors for this launch are not available, however Radio equipments for the pilot project came from the Huawei and Starent / Cisco provided  Evolved Packet Core.
