Bridgewater Systems Enters Into Agreement to Provide Select LTE System Components to MetroPCS in 2010

December 16, 2009 - Multi-million dollar order for Home Subscriber Server and Policy Controller to enable rapid launch of LTE services

Bridgewater Systems (TSX: BWC), the mobile personalization company, today announced that MetroPCS Communications Inc. the nation's leading provider of unlimited, flat-rate, no signed contract wireless communications service, has selected its LTE product suite including the Bridgewater® Home Subscriber Server and Policy Controller, both anchored by Bridgewater's Subscriber Data Broker™ for its 4G LTE network.

    -  MetroPCS has selected Bridgewater's 3GPP Release 8 compliant LTE
       product suite for the launch of LTE broadband services planned for the
       second half of 2010.

    -  For the rollout of the service, MetroPCS will deploy the Bridgewater
       Home Subscriber Server (HSS), a master repository that contains
       subscriber and device profile and state information, and manages
       subscriber identities, service profiles, authentication,
       authorization, and quality of service in real time.

    -  The company will also deploy the market leading Bridgewater Policy
       Controller (PCRF) which provides smart network, application, and
       subscriber policies to manage mobile data growth and deliver
       personalized services.

    -  Bridgewater's Subscriber Data Broker provides a common subscriber data
       management platform that brings together rich, dynamic subscriber data
       with the sophisticated tools to broker that data to multiple systems
       and applications to personalize services.

    -  The LTE product suite features extensive, multi-vendor
       interoperability to provide service providers with network deployment
       flexibility and accelerate the evolution to 4G.
