August 14, 2009 | Taiwan-based carrier Chunghwa Telecom (CHT) is currently experimenting with LTE technology and planning to build a long term evolution (LTE) network in 2011, DigiTimes reports, citing company chairman Shyue-Ching Lu.
Lu further revealed that the company estimates that the number of mobile broadband subscribers in Taiwan are expected to grow from 2.77 million in 2008 to 19.94 million in 2014, making mobile broadband service a major growth driver for telecom companies on the island.
