CSL and ZTE Demonstrate Dual Cell HSPA+/LTE Network
At the LTE Asia 2010 Conference, Hong Kong's mobile network operator CSL Limited (CSL) and ZTE demonstrated simultaneous Dual Cell HSPA+ (42 Mbps)/LTE technologies on an entire network.
According to company statement, CSL and ZTE are set to commercially launch the world's first Dual Cell HSPA+/LTE network.
"CSL is proud to be one of the first operators in the world to pioneer an LTE network that will meet this demand. Currently, we provide a superior 3G network that will also be upgraded with the Dual Cell HSPA technology to continue to deliver the best performance in the city and is meeting the coverage demands of rapidly growing smart phone and mobile broadband usage. At the same time, we are on the threshold of a quantum leap in telecommunications technology with the LTE launch and timely availability of LTE-enabled devices," said Christian Daigneault, Chief Technology Officer, CSL Limited and keynote speaker at the LTE Asia Conference.
In July 2010, CSL and ZTE announced the deployment of the commercial 1800 MHz/2600 MHz dual-band LTE network and the upgrade of the 3G network to the Dual Cell technology with peak speeds of 42Mbps.
"Launching LTE and Dual Cell HSPA simultaneously is a technological challenge rarely seen before. We have been successful in providing CSL with a solution that will provide exceptional performance to CSL customers," said Xu Ming, Vice-President of Wireless Productsat ZTE.
