DOCOMO PACIFIC has announced the introduction of LTE services in Guam starting 04 October 2012.  Operator will offer 4G LTE over the 700 MHz band. In addition to deploying LTE, DOCOMO PACIFIC has already deployed HSPA+ technology in late 2011. The two complementary technologies will assure customers faster speeds throughout Guam even as they move in and out of LTE areas. 

According to DOCOMO PACIFIC, its parent company, NTT DOCOMO, was instrumental in launching Guam’s LTE service with technological support and guidance from 4G services launched in Japan on December 2010.  As of July 2012, NTT DOCOMO had over four million subscribers to its extra-high speed LTE mobile service. With experience gained from its subscriber base, NTT DOCOMO provided the expertise in implementing DOCOMO PACIFIC’s 4G LTE service on Guam.
