DoCoMo paves way for LTE devices

January 24, 2010 | ITP.net - Japanese telco NTT DoCoMo has developed a prototype multi-band power amplifier that could pave the way for lightweight, all-in-one mobile phones capable of working with different standards, including LTE, W-CDMA and GSM.
DoCoMo's new amplifier, which accommodates eight frequency bands between 700 MHz and 2.5 GHz, offers output power equivalent to those of conventional single-band amplifiers. The device looks set to pave the way for multi-standard mobile phones that are generally no larger than existing models.
