Huawei and Genius Brand have signed a contract for the deployment of LTE network in Hong Kong. Genius Brand is a joint venture between Hutchison Telephone Company Limited (HTCL) and Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT) Limited. 

In addition, Huawei has also signed agreements with HTCL and HKT respectively on the evolution of their core networks to the Evolved Packet Core (EPC) specification, while providing them with other solutions for network resources management and end-to-end user experience QoE management.

Coupled with our advanced and integrated mobile and fixed-line infrastructure, the new network will well position us to provide high speed data services with potential download speed of over 100 Mbps and enhanced fixed-mobile convergence services in the future, further strengthening our leading position in the telecom industry" said Mr. Peter Wong, Chief Executive Officer of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings Limited.

Huawei will implement MOCN (Multiple Operator Core Network) for Genius Brand, allowing HTCL and HKT to gain competitive edge in greatly reduced cost and time to market through sharing resources of the radio network and network spectrum while having two separate core networks.
