Movistar Guatemala has launched commercial LTE services in the country. Movistar LTE service is now available at major points in the capital city, provincial capitals and some tourist sites.

Operator has launched LTE network in 1900MHz band. According to Movistar, it has invested more than $100 million for network consolidation within the last ten months.

Movistar has also announced 14 LTE capable mobile terminals including Blackberry Q5; Backberry Q10 - LTE; Nokia Lumia 820; Nokia Lumia 920; Motorola Razr HD XT925; LG E976 - Optimus G; Motorola XT1058 - Moto X LTE; iPhone 5 (Model A1428); iPhone 5C; iPhone 5S; LG D805 - Optimus G2; Samsumg Galaxy Note 3; Samsung Galaxy S5 - LTE and Samsung Galaxy Mini S5-LTE. iphones 5, 5S and 5C are compatible with the LTE network, but require software update to be released by Apple in the beginning of 2015.
