New Zealand mobile operator 2degrees has launched a three-month trial which involves 10 4G sites in central Auckland using their 1800MHz spectrum. Operator expects to launch LTE service commercially in central Auckland in July, followed by the wider Auckland region, Hamilton, Wellington and Christchurch by the end of the year. 

The rollout of 4G to provincial areas will begin in 2015. 2degrees will make 4G available to both prepay and pay monthly customers. Operator plans to offer details about LTE price plans soon.
