Russian operator MegaFon could get the frequency license for LTE soon. The decision on the allocation of the LTE frequency range to the operator is expected at the next meeting of the State Commission for Radio Frequencies (SCRF). 

"In general, the Ministry decided to include in the agenda of SCRF the allocation of frequencies for telecommunications services partner of the Sochi Olympics, but specific details remained to be determined", - says the source of Kommersant, according to the article.

Megafon is Telecommunications sponsor to the Winter Olympic Games due to be held in Sochi in 2014. The total contract amount was $ 260 million addition, the company plans to invest more than $ 200 million in the infrastructure of the city and the region. MegaFon, as the official telecommunications partner of the Olympic Games in 2014, has sent a request to the SCR for LTE in Sochi.
