Canada's telecom service provider SaskTel will launch its 4G LTE network on January 31. At launch, LTE service will be available in Regina, Saskatoon, Clavet, Dundurn, Langham, Lumsden, Martensville, Osler, Pense, Vanscoy, Warman, and White City.  

Company also plans to invest approximately $400 million in overall capital expenditures in 2013, with approximately $216 million dollars being allocated towards its core Saskatchewan network.  

Throughout 2013 the LTE network will also be extended to Dalmeny, Balgonie, Estevan, Moose Jaw, North Battleford, Prince Albert, Swift Current, Weyburn and Yorkton.

In 2012, SaskTel budgeted $44 million for the infrastructure build for LTE and in 2013 will invest another $5.2 million for Long Term Evolution expansion. In 2013 SaskTel will invest $53.8 million for ongoing 4G wireless network enhancements.  

SaskTel will also invest $82.0 million in its Fibre to the Premise Program (FTTP) in 2013.  An additional $11.5 million will be invested in the new Fibre to the Business Program (FTTB) for a total of $93.5 million.  The FTTP deployment project is a $670 million 7-year program announced in 2012 which targets to have 100% of homes in the nine major centres in the province passed by 2017.
