Symena releases new version of automatic cell planning (ACP) Capessoâ„¢
April 21, 2010 - Symena has released a new version of the market leading automatic cell planning (ACP) Capessoâ„¢. Capessoâ„¢ 4.7 extends Symena's lead in automatic cell planning for LTE and other radio technologies by capitalizing on the experience with ten top LTE vendors. In particular Capessoâ„¢ LTE now supports coverage and quality optimization and analysis based on RSRP (reference signal received power) and RSRQ (reference signal received quality).
"Since we released the first version of Capessoâ„¢ LTE in March 2008 we have been gaining insights into the practical issues of LTE planning from our OEM and operator customers," said Dr Thomas Neubauer, Managing Director of Symena. "They push us to make sure that Capessoâ„¢ LTE works the way that they need it. That means that we need to accurately represent the way that their equipment works. We are also finding that the increased complexity of LTE means that no one wants to plan it manually. Capessoâ„¢ solves that problem."
Some of the other functionality added in this release includes:
- Improvements in multi-core CPU utilization that deliver calculation speed improvements of between 10% and 30% depending on the scenario, availability of cores and sufficient RAM;
- Enhanced support for MIMO systems;
- Improved support for indoor clutter types; and
- Use, analysis and display of multiple focus zones in Capessoâ„¢ Inspector.
Capessoâ„¢ LTE is being used on several prominent, early, LTE networks in North America and Asia.
Capessoâ„¢ 4.7 is tightly integrated with Forsk's ATOLL and the Mentum Planet radio network planning tools.
Symena will present and exhibit at the LTE World Summit, Amsterdam, 18/19 May 2010. For more details, http://ws.lteconference.com/
