Verizon's LTE USB modem users may experience up to a two minute delay when performing handover from a 3G coverage zone to LTE network.

"Hand-offs can take up to a couple minutes, but that was expected and a fix is in the works," Verizon spokesman Jeffrey Nelson told Computerworld by e-mail.

Verizon Wireless says that a fix is under way for LTE connection problem but did not specify the any time frame.

Verizon users can choose from two LTE Mobile Broadband data plans: $50 monthly access for 5 GB monthly allowance or $80 monthly access for 10 GB monthly allowance, both with $10/GB overage. Verizon Wireless 4G LTE services can be accessed on laptop computers equipped with either the LG VL600 or Pantech UML290 wireless modems.

In real-world, loaded network environments, data rates are expected to be 5 to 12 megabits per second (Mbps) on the downlink and 2 to 5 Mbps on the uplink.
