  • U.S. carrier MetroPCS has selected Ericsson as the supplier of equipment and services to transform its distributed nationwide Evolved Packet Core network. The transformation will enhance key services including high-speed data, voice over LTE (VoLTE) and Rich Communication Services for MetroPCS customers across the United States.

  • U.S. operator Sprint has launched 4G LTE network in Altoona, Pa., Asheville, N.C., Columbus, Ind., Elkhart/Goshen, Ind., Hammond, La., La Crosse, Wis., San Juan, Puerto Rico, Statesville, N.C., and Temple, Texas. Operator has also expanded LTE service in San Germán, Yauco, Salinas and Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico.

  • MWC 2013, Barcelona, Spain, February 28, 2013 – Airspan Networks Inc., a leading provider of 4G LTE-Advanced broadband wireless access networks, announced today that it has started the deployment of a 2.6 GHz TD-LTE network with Brazilian Telco ON in Sao Paulo state using its Air4G high power compact small cell.

  • Vodafone New Zealand has launched 4G LTE Network in 1800MHz frequency band. Vodafone's LTE network is live now in parts of Auckland and the network will expand to more suburbs in coming weeks.  LTE will be available in parts of Christchurch in May, and parts of Wellington in August/September 2013.

  • Alcatel-Lucent has signed an agreement with Etisalat to extend its’s LTE coverage across its footprint including a new partnership in Sri Lanka. Company also announced that Alcatel-Lucent and Regional Telecom, a communications service provider in Northern Iraq, are to launch the 4G LTE network in Iraq.

  • Ericsson and China Mobile has successfully demonstrated a dual mode HD voice over LTE (VoLTE) call between TD-LTE and LTE FDD based on ST-Ericsson's multimode modem and Renesas Mobile' quad-mode chipsets during the 2013 Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

  • Germany’s E-Plus Group and  Orange Communications in Switzerland  have selected Nokia Siemens Networks for LTE network deployments. In addition to LTE rollout in 1800 MHz band, the company will also modernize and expand the E-Plus GSM and HSPA+ networks.

  • ZTE has announced that it has successfully deployed an LTE network for telecoms operator Telenor in Hungary. The first phase of the network covers 76 towns in Hungary.
