Hong Kong's mobile operator, China Mobile Hong Kong, selected Ericsson to further enhance its converged LTE FDD/TDD and Evolved Packet Core network. The network enhancement spans a wide range of capabilities including voice over LTE (VoLTE), Ericsson Charging System, Evolved IP network solution, and Proactive Support Services. 

With the voice over LTE (VoLTE) technology, users will have an improved experience when using their LTE smartphones. The technology enables superior HD voice call quality, instant call-set-up and LTE data services during calls.

According to Ericsson, It is the sole supplier of China Mobile Hong Kong for a complete voice over LTE solution, based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem with Call Session Control Function, Multimedia Telephony Application Server, Media Resource System, Session Border Gateway and software upgrade of the LTE FDD/TDD radio access network and Evolved Packet Core network, Service Aware Policy Control, User Data Consolidation and Home Subscriber Server.  Evolved IP Network solution, end-to-end solution design, installation, configuration, integration, as well as verification are also included in the contract.
