March 23, 2010 - GENBAND Inc today announced a suite of mobile data offload solutions to support service providers as they tackle the exponential growth of mobile data consumption driven by the increase in smart phones and intelligent wireless devices. By offloading data traffic from 3G networks through Wi-Fi and femtocell infrastructure, GENBAND offers mobile operators secure, multi-access network solutions to reduce network congestion.

For Wi-Fi offload solutions, GENBAND's S-Series(TM) Security Gateways can be configured as IWLAN Tunnel Termination and Packet Data Gateways that work in conjunction with AAA servers and policy controllers to provide intelligent control of data and multimedia traffic. In addition, data session mobility is provided through support for MOBIKE and Mobile IP.

GENBAND's S-Series Security Gateways and G9(TM) Converged Gateways also support Generic Access Network (GAN) and femtocell-based data offload solutions simultaneously, providing operators maximum deployment flexibility.
