South Korean operator LG U+ has introduced voice over LTE (VoLTE) services to its customers in partnership with Ericsson's subsidiary LG-Ericsson. With commercial VoLTE (GSMA IR.92) services, the operator can also offer enhanced telecom grade services such as HD voice, video calling, chat and presence.

Ericsson has supplied an end-to-end VoLTE network to LG U+, including LTE-RAN, Evolved Packet Core, and IMS Telephony Application Server. 

LG U+ launched LTE commercially on July 1, 2011 and as of August 2012, operator has confirmed that LG U+ is serving 3.1 million of LTE subscribers.

Another South Korean service provider SK Telecom has already started HD voice call service over LTE in beginning of August
