TeliaSonera to launch 4G LTE in Visby on June 30
TeliaSonera is ready to launch 4G LTE in Visby, Sweden on June 30 . It would become the third city in the world with commercial 4G network.
Telia launched the world's first 4G network in Stockholm & Oslo at the end of last year. Now Telia's first base station for the 4G LTE network is in place on Gotland.
According to TeliaSonera, with practical speeds of up to 80 Mbps, it will be with 4G easy to use real-time services such as television, online games and business applications and other mobile services that require a fast internet connection with low response times in the network.
"Visby is strongly associated with summer and holiday - perfect for the world's fastest mobile broadband, among other things makes it easier and more fun to use moving images such as web TV in the laptop, "says Erik Hallberg, head of Mobility Services at TeliaSonera in Sweden.
On 30 June, the 4G network will cover most of central Visby and the aim is then a continued gradual expansion. Radio network in Visby supplied by Ericsson.
Telia will offer a 25 locations in Sweden 4G coverage before the end of the year, from Luleå in the north to Lund in the south.
