Portugal Telecom has selected Huawei to launch commercial LTE services in Portugal using tit's SingleRAN LTE solution. According to Huawei, with it's SingleRAN LTE solution, operator will integrate existing GSM networks and new LTE networks on a single platform to provide end users with seamless mobile services.
Alcatel-Lucent and West Central Wireless, a subsidiary of the Central Texas Telephone Cooperative, have signed an agreement to provide LTE service in rural areas of Texas, USA. Under the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will enable West Central Wireless to launch new 4G LTE service.

LG Electronics have sold three million LTE smartphones globally. LG plans to significantly expand its LTE smartphones availability in 2012 as the number of countries offering LG LTE smartphones to grow from 10 to 20 markets by the end of the year.
Magyar Telekom's T-Mobile unit plans to extend the LTE service coverage to suburban parts of Budapest and several country towns this summer. According to the operator, currently it's 4G LTE service is available outdoors for 90% of the population in Budapest and indoors for 73%.
