Ericsson today announces the launch of the 5G Exchange (5GEx) project. A Phase 1 5G Infrastructure Public Private Partnership (5G PPP) research and innovation project, 5GEx aims to enable a unified European 5G infrastructure service market that integrates multiple operators and technologies.

Helios Towers Africa (“HTA”), a telecommunications tower company in Africa and Millicom, a telecom and media company dedicated to emerging markets in Latin America and Africa, today announced that Millicom will own 24% of shares in HTA on a fully diluted basis following a shareholding reorganisation.

Swisscom is provided by Ericsson the Europe's first fully commercial LTE-Advanced three-carrier aggregation solution combining LTE in both FDD and TDD modes. The demonstration used three carriers in two bands in a radio access network and used commercial-grade chipsets.
