Telstra's planned LTE trial is expected to begin in May and will run for three to six months. It will be located in Victoria.

Telstra  is Australia's leading telecommunications and information services company, with one of the best known brands in the country. Telstra offers a full range of services and compete in all telecommunications markets throughout Australia, providing more than 8.8 million Australian fixed line and 10.3 million mobile services, including 7.2 million 3G services.

Telstra has chosen Nokia Siemens Networks and Huawei to conduct trials of Long Term Evolution (LTE) in May to assess the technology’s capability and performance as the next-generation evolution for the Next G™ network.

The live trial will be able to reach peak downlink speeds of up to 150Mbps, on which streaming high-definition video, video and voice calls, and lightning-fast internet browsing can be offered.
