Zain Saudi Arabia & Motorola have signed a contract to deploy the LTE network in the Kingdom in February.  Motorola will be deploying the largest LTE network for Zain in the capital city, Riyadh and will provide an end-to-end LTE solution including radio access network (RAN), evolved packet core (EPC), devices and optimization and integration services.  Deployment will begin in the second quarter enabling Zain to offer high-speed mobile broadband services to its customers.

In march Zain Bahrain showcased the region’s first LTE call, setting new standards for the telecoms sector by achieving a download data speed of 70 Mbps. In a trial to demonstrate its LTE readiness, Zain Bahrain proved its preparedness and commitment to mass-scale deployment of this advanced technology just six months after announcing the Middle East’s first LTE contract with Nokia Siemens Networks. Zain Bahrain’s LTE network is expected to complete by end of year.
