Huawei has announced that it enabled circuit switch fall back (CSFB) voice call between a LTE TDD compatible network and a UMTS network. This CSFB voice call was made through Huawei's STREAM 201HW smartphone, now available through SOFTBANK MOBILE Corp in Japan.

Alcatel-Lucent and Cassidian, an EADS company, have launched a new solution called ‘Evercor’ to enhance safety and operations for public safety agencies, energy and transport companies. According to Alcatel-Lucent, it enables the use of video, data and other media to improve the way the security professionals serve and protect their communities.

Swedish telecom operator Tele2 & Norwegian partner Telenor plan to launch 4G LTE network in Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmo, Karlskrona and Lund cities this year.

T-Mobile has announced Simply Prepaid, a new wireless prepaid plan with unlimited data, talk and text with 4G LTE data buckets starting as low as $40 a month. The new plan will be available starting January 25th. 

Sri Lanka’s Dialog Broadband Networks, a subsidiary of Dialog Axiata, has gained additional 2.3GHz spectrum with acquisition of Sky. Sky is a licensed Pay Television Operator in Sri Lanka and is currently in possession of spectrum resources in the 2.3GHz spectrum band

Ericsson has been awarded 4G/TD-LTE contract by Augere to offer 4G services in two Indian states Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
