Poland’s mobile carrier P4 and BICS, a global wholesale carrier for voice, mobile data and capacity services. have announced the extension of their long-term partnership with the launch of LTE roaming on P4’s network through BICS’ IPX platform.

Mobile operator Sonera has launched its commercial LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network in Finland. The operator is now offering data rates with up to 300 Mbps speeds on live LTE network in certain areas of Helsinki.

USA carrier T-Mobile has launched family plan with unlimited 4G LTE data in the country. Available tomorrow, the new Simple Choice family plan starts at $100 per month for two people – and it goes all the way up to 10 people for $40 more per line 

At the ITU Telecom World 2014, Nokia Networks, Ooredoo Qatar and China Mobile showcased a speed of 4.1 Gbps over TDD-FDD LTE. Supported by the Global TD-LTE Initiative, the speed was achieved by combining TDD- and FDD-LTE spectrums and aggregating 10 carriers with 200 MHz bandwidth.

Three UK has 3.1 million 4G customers now, just 10-months on from its commercial launch, representing over a third of Three’s 8 million customers. Three began enabling customers in March with all subscribers eligible to access 4G at no extra cost.

U.S. carrier T-Mobile today announced that San Diego, CA is the latest area to get up to a 50% increase in LTE mobile speeds from a Wideband LTE upgrade. In addition, LTE customers in the Carlsbad area are also experiencing super-fast download speeds.

Singapore's telecom service provider M1 has launched nationwide LTE-Advanced network, doubling download speeds for customers to up to 300Mbps. All existing and new mobile customers with devices that support the LTE-A technology will be able to access faster download speeds.

Vodafone Ireland has introduced 4G+ technology with data speeds of up to 150Mbps in Ireland. Vodafone customers in Waterford city will have 4G+ access from 1st December, while Cork, Dublin and Limerick cities will be switched on by the end of December.

Malaysian operator DiGi Telecommunications (DiGi) launched 4G LTE services in Kota Kinabalu. The company plans to complete its LTE rollout for the year by strengthening its network in East Malaysia.

Airtel has partnered with Ericsson to deploy a new, nationwide LTE 800 MHz network Seychelles. LTE network is to be commercially launched this year and utilizes Ericsson LTE core and access equipment and services. 

Australian operator Telstra switched on 4GX service today in Melbourne with typical mobile download speeds up to 2 to 100Mbps for customers with compatible devices.

Ericsson and IBM announced today a collaboration to jointly research phased-array antenna designs for 5G to provide data speeds orders of magnitude faster than what is available currently.

Korea’s telecommunication operator LG Uplus has completed a three-month long trial of its Intelligent Network Platform (INP). Nokia’s radio technology, Liquid Applications and professional services were used in the trial.
