Nokia Networks has announced that company designed, tested and integrated VoLTE call in to du’s multi-vendor LTE network in 80 days.  The telecommunications service provider du successfully achieved Voice over LTE (VoLTE) functionality in its live network recently using Nokia’s VoLTE solution and Professional Services.

Ireland's fixed-line and mobile telecommunications services provider eircom has signed a five-year exclusive agreement with Ericsson. The agreement will see Ericsson becoming the sole vendor for eircom’s radio access solutions for 4G LTE, 3G and 2G mobile technologies across Ireland. 

LTE broadcast is one of the key new features of 3GPP LTE Release 9 specifications known as evolved Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service (eMBMS), which supports all specified bandwidths and formats of LTE, including FDD and TDD modes and LTE-Advanced carrier aggregation.

Verizon Wireless has launched two new LTE promotions beginning today. Verizon customers with MORE Everything plan can now get 15GB of data per month for $110 or 30GB of data for $130 per month.   

UK carrier EE has launched 4G LTE network in a further 18 towns across Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England. Less than two years since launch, 4G from EE now covers over 75% of the population across 281 large towns and cities and more than 2,500 villages and small towns.

South Africa's telecommunications provider Telkom plans to begin the roll-out of its LTE Advanced (LTE-A) connectivity, in more than 50 suburbs across South Africa, by the end of this year.

Philippines Wireless services provider Smart has stepped up the roll-out of its new LTE network across the country to meet the growing demand for high-speed Internet services.

Today Verizon Wireless announced that it has launched XLTE in 22 new markets, bringing double the 4G LTE bandwidth and greater peak speeds now in more than 400 markets in USA. That means that 4 out of 5 Verizon Wireless 4G LTE markets now have Verizon Wireless XLTE.
