South Korea's SK Telecom has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Nokia on January 21, 2015, to work together to lead the development and verification of the fifth-generation (5G) mobile network technologies.

TeliaSonera has renewed and expanded its contract with Ericsson, that was initially signed back in 2010. Ericsson will now perform field operation services for the operator's fixed and mobile networks.

Kenya’s operator Safaricom has selected Nokia Networks as one of its partners to modernize and expand its 2G and 3G network infrastructure and to help launch the LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network in Kenya. The network launched in December 2014 will offer peak speeds of up to 100 Mbps.

Vodafone Italia has extended its 4G network to provide LTE, LTE-Advanced services in over 100 winter resorts. The list of municipalities that benefit from the 4G connection includes Courmayeur, Cortina, Corvara, Ortisei, Pinzolo and Madonna di Campiglio.

Telefónica Peru and Ericsson are jointly implementing a project to provide internet access via 4G/LTE to governmental entities, such as schools and healthcare centers, in the Peruvian Amazon during 2015.
