HKT and Huawei have successfully demonstrated an IP-RAN based LTE-A 450Mbps solution (3 FDD Carrier Aggregation) in Hong Kong.

LTE chipmaker Sequans Communications and LTE broadcast middleware provider, Expway, announced the availability of a new platform for the delivery of LTE broadcast service to an LTE-Wi-Fi router, enabling all devices in range of the Wi-Fi router to receive the LTE broadcast streams.  

Sisvel has expanded the scope of its LTE patent pool to offer patent licenses covering all LTE and LTE-Advanced specifications, representing comprehensive coverage of the latest versions of the 4G standard for mobile communications.  

Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent have entered into a memorandum of understanding under which Nokia will make an offer for all of the equity securities issued by Alcatel-Lucent, through a public exchange offer in France and in the United States, on the basis of 0.55 of a new Nokia share for every Alcatel-Lucent share.

Nokia Networks has announced demonstration of a 10Gbps peak rate system over the air at 73GHz (mmWave)  with NI at the Brooklyn 5G Summit, jointly organized by Nokia Networks and NYU WIRELESS Research Center at the New York University Polytechnic School of Engineering. 

U.K. operator EE has launched WiFi Calling to make calls and texts available in every WiFi-connected home and small office in the UK. WiFi Calling from EE will be available from launch on the Lumia 640 and from Friday 10 April on the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. 

Ofcom has published research into 4G and 3G mobile broadband performance. Overall, 4G networks performed much better than 3G networks in five sample towns and cities tested - Edinburgh, Leeds, London, Newcastle and Poole/Bournemouth - where both 4G and 3G networks have been rolled out.

U.S. Cellular will be adding more than 600 4G LTE cell sites in 2015 and expanding existing 4G LTE service in 10 states. By the end of 2015, 98 percent of U.S. Cellular customers will have access to 4G LTE speeds. 

Alcatel-Lucent has been named by China Telecom as one of its top three suppliers for the rollout of mobile ultra-broadband services across China.

Tecore Networks, a 3G/4G LTE mobile network infrastructure supplier , will be featuring its complete LTE Network-in-a-Box (NIB), at the Competitive Carrier Associations (CCA) 2015 Spring Expo taking place March 25-27 at the Downtown Hilton Atlanta in Georgia. 

Huawei released a 3.5GHz CAT6 LTE-A device at the 3.5GHz LTE TDD Roundtable at MWC 2015. The device, supporting 2 carrier aggregation with total downlink speed of over 220Mbps, represents the end-to-end commercialization of LTE-A at the 3.5GHz band, according to Huawei.

Finland's mobile service provider DNA is testing LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technology with Omnitele in a small cluster of DNA’s commercial 4G LTE network. The average bitrate over a short drive test run was 207 Mbps. The highest measured value peaked to 270 Mbps. Tests were conducted in a practical live network.

Slovakia's telecommunications provider SWAN has launched LTE service in 50 towns across Slovakia. For now the service is available for more than 30 percent of the population, while the coverage should increase along with gradual expansion of Swan’s network.
