Alcatel-Lucent and UAE operator Etisalat have completed a technology trial with Alcatel-Lucent's lightRadio portfolio over a working 4G LTE network. During the trial, Alcatel-Lucent showcased the capabilities of its new 9768 lightRadio Metro Radio Outdoor (MRO) at Etisalat’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, over Etisalat’s commercial 4G LTE network.
Indian telecom service provider, Bharti Airtel has selected Nokia Siemens Networks to build and operate its TD-LTE network in Maharashtra, one of the country’s largest telecom circles. The launch of commercial TD-LTE services is planned later this year. Bharti Airtel will deploy its TD-LTE network in the 2.3 GHz frequency band.
