Difference between PS Handover over Gn and PSHO over S4 ?

Hi all !

I would like to know what is the difference between PS Handover over Gn/Gp and PS HO over S4 interface for the user. I know the architecture difference but I'm interessted about QoS for User.

I know that S4 is better, but why? A friend said to me that in the S4, packets are not lost, but I don't understand this very well.

I hope having answers, I'm a little bit lost !

LTE Conference

Hi everyone,

My company is considering organising a telecoms related evening for some of our clients in the UK. I would like to use LTE/4G as our main theme and will invite 4 or 5 speakers to host the event with presentations on topics in the LTE domain. What topics do you think would work? The idea of the event is for people to learn about the up and coming technologies whilst networking.

Bit to symbol mapping in LTE

Hi,

I want to estimate the soft symbols from LLRs coming from Decoder using the tanh function. The question is how are the bits mapped to symbols let say for 16-QAM:

In the specification it is written that the bits b(i),b(i+1),b(i+2),b(i+3) are mapped to the I and Q as for instance:

I Q
0000 1/sqrt(10) 1/sqrt(10)

0001 1/sqrt(10) 3/sqrt(10)

A few questions about the LTE UE (handset) signal components?

Hi,

I'm new to LTE so apologies up front for my severe lack of knowledge.

1. Bandwidth limits and typical amount used for a voice call

From what I have read thus far it seems that the handset could use anywhere from six to one-hundred resource blocks of 180kHz(~1.1 MHz to 20 MHz range). Is this true? It would be useful to understand how much would be used typical for a voice call?

Asking for The good performance but simple simulator for analyzing handover in LTE

I have been doing my final task to simulating inter-MME handover. i would ask some questions:
1. What kind of simulator could i use which i can simply applicate for handover?
2. Could here anybody help to explain me about the function or job of S1 interface when inter-MME handover or inter-eNodeB handover?

how the cell mapping happens at RRC

Could anybody explain that how the cells(sectors) are mapped on RRC. i mean who handles and maintains the eNodeb call & sector information and how the upper layers handle these things. I am aware of phy procedures but what happens on upper layers like RRC & others??

NeST & Mymo Wireless announce strategic partnership to address LTE Market

Where can i get LTE MIB or Operator Configuration Parameter List?

Hi,

I am having document 32.592.Lot of parameters given in this document are considered as operator settable. This document has been written for femto.

query on the cell-selection from LTE to 3G N/W

Hi,

I am currently working on 3G FemtoCell. I know that LTE doesn't support voice call as result when the voice call is made UE would fall back to UMTS/CDMA network to handle the cs call.

Why does my MME request 2 different DIAMETER E-UTRAN vectors for the same UE?

When my UE initially attaches to the network I see that the MME makes 2 separate DIAMETER Authentication Information Requests to the HSS and receives 2 different E-UTRAN vectors back in return.

Regarding LTE KPI- Mobility (3GPP 32.450)

3GPP 32.450 (Rel 9) section 6.5.1.1 mention mobility KPI and gives formula for mobility success rate.

Timing Advance in LTE - Type 1 vs. Type 2

Dear Friends,

I am trying to understand the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 Timing Advance in LTE.

Please can one of the LTE Gurus illuminate?

Lte/Wimax

Whether somebody can give the detailed answer to the following question: what for it is necessary to create network LTE when already exists WiMAX? What for to invent a bicycle?

LTE usage for Public Safety (700MHz)?

Was wondering if LTE can support public safety? Let say if the base stations is affected, can the walkie-talkie/comm sets be able to communicate via DMO (direct mode operations) assuming in tunnel.
